When we approach a tipping point for a certain system, not only are we catastrophically impacting our socioecological systems today, but we are also markedly darkening our future and closing windows of opportunities. Impacts will resonate through time, but in addition to the
impacts we know could occur, there is so much more we do not know — and we are losing the opportunity to explore those possibilities.
